Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF)

The Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF) is a pan-European initiative that has set itself ambitious goals. It wants to provide European researchers in all disciplines with an open platform and increase the visibility of European science in the media, politics and the public sphere both in Europe and internationally.

As one of its co-initiators, the Robert Bosch Stiftung has been involved financially and organizationally in ESOF since it was founded in Stockholm in 2004. In 2006, the foundation jointly organized the second EuroScience Open Forum in Germany together with the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft. The Foundation also provided funding and content input for the conferences in Barcelona and Turin in 2008 and 2010.

ESOF is the European equivalent of the annual American Association for the Advancement of Sciences (AAAS) conference, the world's largest science event. The next ESOF conference will take place in Dublin from July 11-15, 2012.
