Robert Bosch Stiftung and Literarisches Colloquium Berlin advertise research scholarships for authors

Stuttgart – September 14, 2007

Authors who want to discover Central and Eastern Europe, is planning to publish about Central and Eastern Europe, or contemplating a research tour of the east can apply to the "Grenzgänger" program. We are looking for authors who want to collect first-hand information and visit authentic locations. Their publications should reach a broad public, stimulate discussions and help create a complex portrait of Central and Eastern European countries. We welcome literary prose and essays as well as other genres, such as scripts, text and photography volumes, as well as radio scripts.

Travel scholarships are available in the form of grants from 4,000 to 10,000 euros. An independent jury will evaluate the applications and select projects for sponsorship. Recipients of "Grenzgänger" sponsorship also receive help in presenting their work at public events.

Applications should be submitted to Literarisches Colloquium Berlin e.V. by October 31, 2007 (Aylin Rieger, Am Sandwerder 5, D-14109 Berlin, Phone +49 (0)30/81699664, E-Mai: rieger@lcb.de).
