Research project
Dr. Born’s research focuses on medication use in old age. One of the main issues in this area is prescription of inappropriate medication to the elderly. The aim of the project is to update the existing criteria for inappropriate medication use in elderly people in in- and out-patient care (Beers MH. Explicit criteria for determining potentially inappropriate medication use by the elderly. Arch Intern Med. 1997;157:1531-1536; Stuck AE, Beers MH, Steiner A, Aronow HU, Rubenstein LZ, Beck JC. Inappropriate medication use in community-residing older persons. Arch Int Med 1994;154:2195-2200) and to develop opportunities for improvement on the basis of these criteria.
