Otto-Mühlschlegel-Preis “Zukunft Alter” for “Creativity in Technology, Crafts, and Culture”announced
Exploiting the new opportunities offered by an ageing society, recognizing potential, and drawing on creativity – these are the objectives of the 2007/2008 Otto Mühlschlegel Prize. Robert Bosch Stiftung has announced the motto of this year’s prize as “Creativity in Technology, Crafts, and Culture.” Application is open to individuals aged over 60, to groups, and to cultural and educational institutions proposing projects in which the creativity of older people is demonstrated and applied. The activities proposed may be in the fields of technical innovation, crafts, literature, music, fine and applied arts, theater, and film. Applications close on 15 October 2007.
The 2007/2008 Otto Mühlschlegel Prize “Zukunft Alter” honors innovative and creative achievements by older people. These achievements should demonstrate creative talent in old age and that has been enhanced by their life experience. Eligible activities can be carried out by elderly individuals or groups, including projects involving collaboration between older and younger people. The prize seeks to honor outstanding technical, craft, or cultural innovations first created in old age that both depend on the creativity of senior citizens and enrich life in our society. The prize will be awarded in Baden-Baden on 4 July 2008.
The Otto and Edith Mühlschlegel Stiftung is administered as a dependent foundation within Robert Bosch Stiftung. The Otto Mühlschlegel Prize is announced at regular intervals, each time with a different motto. Past mottos include Life, Living and Age (2003/2004) and Knowledge, Skills and Action (2005/2006).
