Developing sustainable solutions
Since it was founded in 1964, Robert Bosch Stiftung has regarded health as a key issue to address above all at the Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus which Robert Bosch established in 1940. Today the vocational and scientific qualification of health and nursing professionals forms part of our program, as does the establishment of geriatrics as a medical discipline. We believe that, to meet the challenges of an ageing society, the role of age and tasks for elderly people need to be newly defined, while we also have to explore new approaches in care for the elderly. In this field, we support many model projects at Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus and our associated research institutes.
We engage in projects to support the health and social professions in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and support the development of regional centers in the health, social and education sectors. Another key aim of the foundation is to support the qualification of young people and experts in the nursing and health professions.

Service Assistants in the Social and Health Care Sector
In close cooperation with ten providers of nursing services and of assistance for the elderly and people with disabilities, the foundation developed the vocational training offer "Service Assistants in the Social and Health Care Sector" for school leavers who have difficulties finding a vocational training position because of, among other things, their poor grades.

Aktion Demenz - Working Together for a Better Life with Dementia
Together with more than 70 representatives from politics, public administration and support groups, as well as scientists and health care, nursing, and other professionals, the foundation has considered the question how society should best respond to the problem of dementia.
