Sustainable Partners - Partners for Sustainability
Many of earth's natural resources are dwindling. New methods for sustained use of these resources and interdisciplinary research to develop them are needed - especially in countries that face rapid economic growth.
We want to offer you a long-term planning horizon for an intense bilateral cooperation with Chinese research teams. With this program you can apply for a mobility grant that enables you and your partners to become 'twinned teams' - two teams connected by continuous and flexible personal exchange over a long period of time. We hope that both this program and the acitvities of the 'twinned teams' will contribute to the solution of difficult problems in this field as well as help raise awareness of the crucial issues, both in China and in Germany.
The program is directed at research teams from both countries that are planning to work together on a defined research project. We are especially interested in the involvement of young scientists, such as post-doctorate and postgraduate researchers.
Research must be focused on how the use of renewable natural resources impacts the biosphere. Projects relating to fossil and mineral resources cannot be supported. The scientific objectives are more important to us than the academic disciplines of the researchers involved (such as agriculture and forestry science, biology, environmental science, economics, political and social science, etc.).
The maximum grant can total up to 80,000 euros. The maximum funding period lasts three years.
The proposal has to be submitted by the leader of the German research team, who will also serve as the point of contact for the foundation and as the recipient of the funding.
Deadline for applications was October 7, 2011.
