Promoting creativity from an early age: We want to support kindergartens and primary schools in Baden-Württemberg in anchoring creativity firmly in everyday teaching. The Robert Bosch Stiftung "Kunst-Stück" program funds cooperation projects between primary schools and kindergartens on the one hand and cultural institutions on the other.
Within the "Kunst-Stück" program teachers and educators work together with artists to promote creative development in children in specific projects. The schools' cultural partners may operate in any of the fine arts or performing arts, be it music, dance, theater, arts and crafts, sculpture, or the new media, thereby opening up a wide range of possible activities. Whether it is through song, dance, painting, or play, the partners are invited to put their ideas into practice.
The quality of the project idea can be seen in, for example, the creative potential of the children, interdisciplinary activities, social relevance, and links to science. Other key selection criteria include whether the project anchors creativity promotion within the institution's teaching practice in the long term, and the extent to which the entire teaching staff are involved. In addition, the outcome of the projects should be presented to the public in the form of performances or exhibitions. In selecting projects for promotion, the Robert Bosch Stiftung is particularly interested in projects involving cooperation between three partners: primary schools, kindergartens, and cultural institutions.
Participating teachers and artists are given an opportunity to take part in two training seminars a year at the Schloss Rotenfels Academy, where they can network and exchange experiences with other participants.
