The Diplomats' College

An initiative by the German Federal Foreign Office and the Robert Bosch Stiftung

The aim of the college is to contribute to international understanding and personalize diplomatic cooperation in order to support peace, liberty, constitutionalism, democracy, equal opportunities, and the development of international relations. The Diplomats' College is an innovative ongoing education initiative that supplements the international diplomatic training offered by the Federal Foreign Office, the international projects of the Robert Bosch Stiftung for young professionals, and the Foreign Policy Network of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP).

Germany – Experience a Variety of Perspectives
Each year, the Diplomats' College selects twelve diplomats from Central and Eastern Europe, the Southern Caucasus, Central Asia and China who are working in Germany and invites them to experience Germany in a variety of perspectives. On informational visits, in specialist talks and at cultural events, participants experience aspects of Germany that are relevant to their profession.

The Diplomats' College is an innovative German-language platform for dialog and covers a broad spectrum of topics in a program tailored to participants who are working in full-time jobs. The program not only deals with themes that are specific to Germany, but also with European and global issues. Young diplomats gain useful information and contacts for their future work.

The program personalizes cooperation between young diplomats according to the modern philosophy of "diplomacy by networking". In addition, it increases their professionalism by creating networks of contact and trust.

The international diplomatic training offered by the Foreign Service Academy in the Federal Foreign Office administers the Diplomats' College in cooperation with the Robert Bosch Stiftung and with the support of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP).
