Kiev Dialog
The Kiev Dialog (Kiewer Gespräche) serves as a German-Ukrainian dialog platform for representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the research sector, media and politics to discuss issues affecting civil society.
The Kiev Dialog originated in November 2005 in Berlin as a joint initiative of the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the NGO European Exchange (Europäischer Austausch) themed "Civil Society and Democratic Change." The second event took place in October 2006 in Kiev under the title "Youth Changes Society". Subject of the third conference, which took place in November 2007, was "Ukraine and Europe."
The Kiev Dialog is held under the patronage of the Vice-President of the German Bundestag, Katrin Göring-Eckhart, former cabinet minister Volker Rühe, and the president of the German-Ukrainian parliamentary group, Dr. Bärbel Kofler.
The conferences are organized in cooperation with the Ukrainian foundation PAUCI, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Osteuropakunde, and the Deutsche Welle radio network.
The next Kiev Dialog will take place from October 23 to 25, 2008, in Kiev under the title "History and Today's Policy of Remembrance in Ukraine and Europe."
