Seeking Cultural Ambassadors - Robert Bosch Culture Managers in Central and Eastern Europe

Stuttgart - 9 February 2007

Europe’s cultural diversity is both fascinating and challenging. Culture needs champions: people who generate interest in the cultures of other countries and contribute to greater understanding between Germany and its neighbors. Robert Bosch Stiftung invites applications for Robert Bosch culture managers until 17 March.

Applicants should be university graduates with experience of cultural and project work and a connection to Central, Eastern or Southeast Europe. Culture managers serve two- to three-year terms at cultural and educational institutions in Bulgaria, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldavia, Serbia, the Czech Republic and Hungary, where they develop, plan and organize cultural and educational events and activities. In ongoing education programs, participants acquire qualifications as executives in the field of international cultural exchange.

This Robert Bosch Stiftung initiative is a pioneer program for international cultural and education policy. By supporting local initiatives outside the capital cities, it is developing sustainable structures for cultural relations between Germany and Central, East and Southeast Europe. The program focuses on the cooperative partnerships initiated by the participating culture managers between artists from Germany and the other countries involved.
