Junge Wege in Europa - Joint Projects by School Students and Youth Groups in Germany and CEE

The program "Junge Wege in Europa" permits students and youth groups from Germany and Central and Eastern Europe to pursue joint projects. They work on themes they have chosen themselves, meet interesting people and discover new regions. The Robert Bosch Stiftung has supported the program since 1998 to support a young generation that can shape a future Europe with shared values and in partnership. Since then, over 650 partnership projects have been supported by the "Junge Wege in Europa" competition, which is organized twice a year. After 10 years, the program has been closed in spring 2008.

In August 2003, the foundation transferred the program management to MitOst e.V.

Between 2003 and 2006, the foundation supported 18 schools in Germany in a one-off project to develop long-term partnerships with schools in Central and Eastern Europe. During the three-year program, schools focused on the partner countries in lessons and joint projects. Teachers extended their cross-border relations, coordinated teaching content and prepared meetings between students. Parents, school societies and other local organizations were actively involved. Annual accompanying seminars served to exchange experiences between schools and provide further education on the program themes.
